Bay City State Park

To begin with, one of the great advantages of living in the Great Lakes Bay Region is convenient access to natural beauty. We settled on the Bay City State Park as the perfect location for family pictures. This is definitely one of my favorite spots for family beach photos! Why? Because within a short drive of the Tri-City area, you can be on a beautiful sandy beach with the Lake Huron stretching out into the distance. In fact, when properly framed the photos themselves look like they were shot on a picturesque tropical beach!

It was a dream come true to capture these beautiful family beach photos for the Hahn family! I was so excited when Rachel reached out to me for their family photos. First off, I have loved getting to know this sweet and fun-loving family. Our boys, Oliver and Liam, are best friends from school. Rachel and I share some very similar tastes, including a love for IKEA! And Rachel’s little Oliver is always so smiley whenever I see him. So I knew even before we started that their photos would be amazing.

Before going on this photoshoot, I knew Oliver 3^rd birthday was coming up in a few days. So I  brought a few props for a birthday backdrop to surprise them! Look how incredibly cute Oliver was with the backdrop! I was just glad that we had the chance to recognize his birthday.

Blush and Navy Blue Color Palette

As you can see, Rachel did an amazing job on choosing the outfits for the whole family and showed me the pictures the week before. When deciding on the color palette for a beach photoshoot, you can never go wrong with navy blue! And oh my…little Oliver was simply adorable in his denim bowtie!!
