Michigan Fall Engagement Session
Looking for Michigan fall engagement session ideas? You are in the right place! This time, we explored Seven Lakes State Park again and designed a creative personalized Michigan fall engagement session experience for Destiny and Kevin! In truth, we were probably a week or so past the optimal time for a fall photoshoot in this part of Michigan. However, as you all know, coordinating schedules and weather is an ongoing challenge. Fortunately, the colors of fall were still very much on display. In particular, when they are spread across landscape on the other side of the lake it provided a breathtaking view and a stage to showcase the love of the newly engaged couple.
How I Personalize Your Engagement Photos
If you have read the other engagement sessions in this blog, you probably know that I specialize in creating a personal and authentic wedding experience. Trust me, engagement photoshoot doesn’t have to be serious. It is my priority for my couples to have fun and enjoy their engagement session. So keep scrolling and see how their personalities were reflected perfectly in the settings. Hopefully, this gives you an inspiration for your own engagement session!
Painting Date
From Destiny and Kevin’s Engagement Session Questionnaire, I noticed that they enjoy painting together. So I decided to surprise them with a painting date by a beautiful lake. And I was grateful that they were up for my crazy idea. When you have a playful couple like Kevin and Destiny, a small canvas and some paint can go a long way towards a creative photoshoot.
For a shoot like this, it is probably best to keep the project really simple. Keep in mind that the goal is to capture the candid moments of their interactions, not on the result of the arts and crafts activity. Of course, it is always important to prepare clean up supplies on hand!
Props for Engagement Session
Next, make sure that you take advantage of the props to have some fun with things like a paint brush fight! For example, Kevin and Destiny were enthusiastic and funny warriors who still managed to keep themselves clean (helped by the fact that we made sure to clean the brushes before the battle).
Engagement Session Outfit Tips
Speaking of engagement session outfit tips, I always recommend choosing the color palette that match your wedding colors. In fact, their wedding theme is The Emerald City. As you can see, their engagement look totally reflected the theme! I am so excited to photograph their wedding at Petruzzello’s Banquet and Conference Center next August.
Finally, if you are looking for more creative engagement photo ideas, I would recommend communicating with your wedding photographer to see he/she could help create a more fun experience to celebrate your engagement!
